Dominic Swift
Partner
Dominic is a partner with Browne Jacobson, head of the
property department and the shared services team.
Dominic specialises in development work and the property
aspects of insolvency and banking, he also has considerable
experience in a wide range of commercial property law.
He has acted on more than 50 substantial schemes involving the
relocation of his clients to new purpose built premises. This has
involved advising on all aspects of relocation, including
negotiating the documentation governing the construction of the
building and subsequent occupation, following completion of
the construction work, whether by virtue of a lease or purchase of
the freehold.
He also recently acted for Natural England in relation to a
£17million deal for the acquisition of the key areas of raised peat
bog in England from Scott's (Levington's). His role involved
advising the client on the structure of the transaction and
overseeing completion of all agreements necessary to document the
deal.
Dominic is the client partner for all work undertaken on behalf
of the East Midlands Development Agency and is the contact partner
for all property work carried out on behalf of the Welsh Assembly
Government, Natural England, the Countryside Council for Wales,
Melton Borough Council, Mansfield District Council and the YHA
(England & Wales) Limited.
Outside work, Dominic spends time with his family, enjoys
gardening and is a member of Sherwood Forest Golf Club.
