Richard Nicholas
Associate Solicitor
Richard is an associate solicitor with the
firm, based in our Birmingham office.
Richard's role involves advising IT suppliers
and their customers on contracts for hardware, software, outsourced
services and on e-commerce arrangements. He also advises on
contracts for the procurement and supply of other goods and
services, whether direct to customers or through agency,
distribution or other arrangements. He drafts and negotiates
contracts and recommends practical solutions to contractual
problems so as to put clients in the best negotiating position and
to achieve their commercial goals.
Richard has considerable experience advising
on commercial and IT agreements for a wide variety of organisations
including FTSE 100 companies, SMEs, Central and Local Government
and other public sector organisations. Richard has also worked
in-house through full-time secondments to HSBC and BT, giving him a
valuable insight into issues facing in-house counsel.
Away from work, Richard spends his time playing squash and
enjoys sailing and travelling.
