Fiona Butler
Associate Lawyer and Barrister
Fiona is an associate lawyer and in-house
barrister with the firm, based at Browne Jacobson's Nottingham
office. Having been called to the bar in 1999 and more
recently being invited to become a member of the Employed
Barristers Committee; part of the Bar Council, Fiona is one of the
firm's leading civil advocates working mainly with insurance and
public sector clients.
She heads the civil side of the firm's
in-house advocacy unit, where she specialises in personal injury
matters arising out of road traffic accidents, accidents at work,
within the public sector, and also clinical negligence.
Fiona's role as in-house counsel involves her appearing at Court
hearings at all levels from application hearings and case
management conferences, trials and disposal hearings to hearings
before the Court of Appeal.
Fiona has a particular specialism for
compensation recovery appeals and inquests. She regularly
advises clients on liability, procedural matters and quantum.
Clients benefit from Fiona's dedication to the task in hand but
also her level headedness.

likes to travel: she has visited many countries and despite her
busy social life, tries to jet off as much as possible.
