Emily Birkett
Trainee Solicitor
Emily is a trainee solicitor with Browne Jacobson in its
Nottingham office. She is currently part of the firm's employment
team.
Emily deals with both contentious and non-contentious employment
matters on behalf of a variety of clients, including contractual
issues, unfair dismissal, redundancy and all areas of
discrimination.
Prior to this, Emily gained experience in the firm's social care
and education teams, assisting in providing legal services to local
authorities on a wide range of legal issues, including those
relating to institutional abuse and professional negligence. She
also assisted on education matters advising clients on transitions
in school status and matters related to Special Educational Needs
as well as preparing reports on individual claimants involved
in group actions and attending conferences with counsel.
Prior to being a trainee Emily spent two and a half years as a
marketing assistant in the firm's marketing department where she
specialised in PR.
Away from work, Emily enjoys socialising, travelling and
spending time with her friends and family. She swims twice a week
and is a campanologist at Southwell Minster.
