Mary Astell
Litigation Executive
Mary is a Litigation Executive with Browne Jacobson at its
Birmingham office. She took an unusual route to the legal
profession having trained and worked as a midwife and nurse before
moving into the legal department of Birmingham's Heartlands
Hospital.
In 2003, Mary moved to Browne Jacobson and works as a paralegal.
Mary's main role includes sorting and indexing medical records,
preparing detailed chronologies, arranging and attending
conferences between experts and counsel and preparing basic court
documents.
Away from work, Mary spends her time looking after her children,
spending a lot of time ferrying them to and from various
activities. She also plays tennis.
